Arts Therapy Clinic The expressive arts are powerful and effective therapeutic tools for fostering social and emotional development, strengthening coping abilities, and bringing about healing and hope. The Arts Therapy Clinic at Whittier Street Health Center, conveniently located at 1125 Tremont Street in Roxbury, provides a wide range of services to children, adolescents, and adults throughout Greater Boston. Our goal is to meet therapeutic needs of individuals and families in our community with compassion, creativity, and integrity. Our clinical staff are trained in both traditional and art-based counseling and psychotherapy. We work with people who are recently undergoing normal life transitions as well s severe dress such as immigration / acculturation, separation / divorce, loss / bereavement, school failure, medical illness, homelessness, physical / sexual abuse, and domestic / community violence. We serve children, adolescents, adults, and seniors from a wide variety of settings: public schools, after-school programs, health centers, day treatment facilities, group residences, the court, DSS, DYD, and other human service organizations. People also self-refer. Services include diagnostic
evaluations, counseling, and individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
We work with all of the expressive modalities -art, music, movement, drama,
poetry / writing and integrative arts. We offer school-based services,
agency-based services, and home-based services.
